Wood Clock

The most ornate clock designs are usually made from wood. This has been (for the most part) the case for centuries. There is a long history of artistically crafted cuckoo clocks, pendulum wall clocks, and other clocks made from wood, and the tradition continues today.

Unlike many wall clocks which are seen as institutional and sterile, there is still something about the wood clock that seems homemade and crafted, and perhaps more decorative as a result.

Indeed, many wood clocks are in fact personally carved. There are still carpenters who will create customized wood clocks. This kind of meticulous, personal design can have a very strong, resonating effect in the décor of any room.
