Desk Clock
Like the mantel clock, desk clocks are often made with an economical design and designed to fit on a desk unobtrusively. They can be made of a variety of materials, from wood to porcelain to metal to plastic.
Desk clocks were very popular before the advent of computers and laptops, and would often accompany a typewriter or study materials on a student or professional’s desk.
They are still used today because they are decorative, and because they don’t have to be powered up. Some people also like the desk clock for the steady, metronome-like ticking sound some of them make.
